MOST MBAs ARE UNEMPLOYABLE

A serious issue to be considered before taking up a course of MBA –

The latest study by ASSOCHAM shows that there are some 5,500 Business Schools in India offering various types of MBA courses.  They offer in all 5.20 lakh seats.

Barring the topmost 20 Business schools including Indian Institute of Managements (IIM), only 7 per cent of management graduates from these institutions are employable according to industrialists and corporates.

The quality of education has fallen drastically affecting the standard of employability of these graduates compared to the situation some 15 years ago.   This is true even for IIM and IIT graduates, the study records.

Talented persons are not taking up teaching profession because of low payment resulting in questionable standard of faculty.

The result :: campus recruits are coming down and have fallen by 45 per cent in the last years.

On an average, a student spends Rs 3 to 5 lakh for a two-year MBA course but he gets only Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per month as salary.   Most get below Rs 10,000.
